Outdoor Track: Edose Ibadin sets National Record

Hours ago, Edose Ibadin clocked a Grand Personal Best of 1:44.81s to win his Club’s Time trials.

Though time is yet to be ratified by world athletic, but if it does get ratified he would now hold FOUR National records; 600m, 800m & 1000m (indoor) and the Outdoor 800m as his 1:44.81s breaks Ado Maude’s 1:45.91s which he sets 28 years ago (9 September 1992).


On the other hand, at the Big Friendly Meet III in Portland, reigning World Champion, Donavan Brazier clocked a World Lead (WL) of 1:43.84 in the men’s 800m, his fastest opener ever for a thorough win ahead of Drew Windle who came through in 1:49.64.

Chanelle Price won the women’s 800m in 2:01.71 ahead of Nia Akins in 2:02.07 and Brenda Martinez in 2:02.81.

Briton Josh Kerr also won the men’s 1500m, with a WL of 3:34.53 ahead of Will Paulson who bagged a big PB of 3:35.59. Craig Engels placed 3rd in 3:36.01, as Vincent Ciattei took also recorded a PB with a time of 3:36.35.

Shannon Rowbury sit tops in the women’s 1500m in 4:03.62, ahead of Karisa Nelson and Rebecca Mehra in 4:08.48 and 4:08.78 respectively
