Afeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has regained his freedom in a court sitting in Ikoyi, after spending 10 days with the Economic and Financial Crime Commission for questioning, relating to cyber crime.
Naira Marley was picked up in his residence, Gbangbanla street, Ikate, Lekki in Lagos state, alongside Rahman Jago and 3 others on 10th of May, on charges bothering on cybercrime, conspiracy to obtain gain and possession of counterfeit debit cards.
After a failed appeal by his lawyer to seek for bail for the embattled UK and Nigerian citizen, a court sitting in Ikoyi has granted the artist freedom on bail conditions.
The presiding judge, Justice Oweibo Nicholas, after listening to both defense and prosecution submissions, granted the singer a bail to the tune of 2 million naira, 2 sureties and landed property, he thereafter adjourn the trial to 22, 23 and 24 of October later this year.
However, according to the documents made available to newsmen, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission had listed 9 witnesses against the Nigerian upcoming artist, among which are representatives of Master Card, Guarantee Trust Bank Officers amongst others.
