The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in a press release on Wednesday, 7th of October, reacted to the statements of the minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba by dubbing him a fatuous minister and describing his statement unguarded.
While the minister, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba was addressing the issue of demands for adequate university funds by the members of ASUU. Advised the members of the academic to leave teaching and go into farming.
The statement provoked the members into calling him a fatuous minister in a press release on Wednesday.
The members of the ASUU in the press release also described the statement of the minister as such that proceeds out of back-street-beer-parlor patrons.
In the statement, ASUU expressed abashment as to how hopelessly unknowledgeable the minister could be towards the burning issues under his ministry.
Afterward, the member of ASUU advised him to concentrate on finding ways to implement the 2019 memorandum of action signed with their union and as well as speeding up the conclusion of the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreements.
Finally, in the press release, Members of the ASUU called on the minister of education, Adamu Adamu to rein Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba before exacerbating the traumatized sector.
